The global footwear market has been on average of 5.5% steady growth of the last few years and is excepted to grow 371.8 billion dollars by year 2020. The rising demand for fancy, trendy, stylish yet comfortable foot wear among all age groups is a key factor driving the global footwear industry. In Nigeria the footwear manufacturing industry is dominated by the Aba clusters which is made up of over 70,000 small scale businesses and estimated to be worth over 96 billion naria. Despite churning out millions of shoes from their factory lines annually, the Aba foot business is still unable to meet the growing demand for shoes by Nigeria’s estimated over 180 million people.
