(A TALKE interview with Mr Jare Fola-Bolumole, Chocolate Manufacturer)
Currently valued at round $103.28 billion, the global chocolate market is excepted to approximate around $161.56 billion in revenue by year 2024 with an annual growth projection of around 7.6%.
African industry watchers have over the decades, repeatedly expressed displeasure at the fact that a huge chunk of this money is derived from value addition only after the cocoa games have left the African continent and reached the global north.
However, it seems the new generation of Africans are determined to challenge this narrative by boldly venturing into the chocolate manufacturing business and through catchy innovative branding ideas and have conventional marketing strategies have successfully achieved market penetration and expansion that’s smiling to the bank.
TALK ENTERPRISE CREW tracked down Mr. Jare Fola-Bolumole, a young university graduate and CEO Choc Boy, who started as a student entrepreneur, hawking imported chocolate bars and overtime evolved into a chocolate manufacturing entrepreneur.
